If you would like to donate clothes to charity and do not wish for anything in return your items will be marked as “full charity items” we will then donate the full amount to our chosen charity. We will also donate regularly amounts from profits to small local charities.
When you sell at Betty Browns for cash, we take the items we believe can be sold, and price them up. We pay 30% of this back to you into the bank account you have specified on your customer registration form. Payments will not be made for less than £10, these will be saved on account until the minimum amount is reached.
When you swap at Betty Browns, you will receive a credit note that is valid for any item, any time. We pay 50% in credit of what we price your items would be priced at for sale in the store. Your name and amount to spend will be recorded on our system.
Selling With Us
You don’t need to make an appointment to sell to us, but we’re often quite busy on the weekends so prefer items to be brought in during the week (please come in half an hour before closing to allow time to review your pieces carefully).
You can use our online form for enquiries or you can WhatsApp us any questions using the mobile number stated pictures for prices and confirmation that we can sell. This saves your time and effort as well as ours.
In certain circumstances we can arrange weekend collections, this will have to be arranged and agreed by management.
Before coming in to sell to us we recommend contacting us by sending pictures via WhatsApp or email (however brief). Particularly if you’re travelling a long way. Betty Browns is a small boutique and we may sometimes be so well stocked we’re unable to take more items. If this is to occur we will only be able to take items on a swapping basis for instore credit or charity donations. To avoid disappointment, give us a call and we’ll update you on our inventory levels.
We will try to stick to the correct season to avoid over stocking, light clothes in summer, heavy in winter, this is for children’s and ladies. Current trends, designer labels, vintage and fun, one-off pieces.
We only accept clothes that are clean, unstained and odour-free. Your pieces must be in good shape; if they have missing buttons, fallen hems, holes or the zipper’s broken, we can’t take them. Household items and craft pieces must also be in good order and not have any damage.
We will need a short while to process your items and work out what we can and can’t sell so please look around the store or sit and read our magazines while we do this.
